Bring Spring In!

Entering Spring is the perfect time to freshen up your home and encourage the Spring joy inside! With the welcome of warmer weather and longer days, our home habits will be changing. Here is my round up of 8 simple ways to welcome Spring into your space.

Spruce up a dated piece of furniture with a lick of fresh paint<

Rust-Oleum Furniture Paint, £15

This furniture paint by Rust-Oleum, in shade Hessian, is a simple way to freshen up a sad piece of furniture and give it a new lease of life for Spring. The light, warm tones of hessian will bring a sense of softness to your space. On most surfaces sanding and priming is not necessary, which makes the process even more simple.

Let it bloom! Add a floral arrangement to your space for an instant Spring boost.

Bloom & Wild Letterbox Flowers, April Pick, £28

For seasonal blooms why not try a letterbox flower service like Bloom & Wild? Beautiful blooms in your home can bring a real sense of joy. This April bunch contains Lilies, stocks, Ornithogalum thyrosides, foliage and calming eucalyptus. For a quick fix, take some blossom branch cuttings and display. Position somewhere where they are often catching your eye- Seeing flowers is scientifically proven to boost happiness!

Spruce up your display with a new vase

Anissa Kermiche Love Handles Vase, £340

This beautiful love handles vase is a regular sight on the style circuit of Instagram, and I can see why. This kind of statement vase looks it’s best with or without blooms. Display your Spring picks proudly, and when they’re ready to go, display the vase as a talking point in your home. The gentle feminine curves of the piece will bring a touch of femininity and beauty to your space for Spring.

Switch to light and airy

Soho home, Celio Linen & Silk blend throw, £245

If you’re a fan of having throws and blankets in your living space, Spring is the perfect season to switch them up for lighter fabrics. Even better, choose some that can be taken outside to take the chill off on cooler evenings spent in the garden.

Add in some Spring prints during dinner

Zara Home, Cotton tablecloth, £49.99

As we all know, weather in the UK can often be unpredictable. Sometimes Spring lunch plans in the garden don’t go to plan so bring Spring to your table inside. Add a pastel or print tablecloth to your dining table and feel the joy of Spring regardless of the weather.

Feeling fruity! Display those seasonal fruits in a beautiful bowl.

Matilda Goad, giant ceramic clam shell bowl, £190

Inject some colour and freshness with a delicious fruit display. Add all of your seasonal fruit selections to a decorative bowl. This interesting Clam design brings an element of the beach into your home.

Keep it cool, switch your bedding to a light linen style in a pastel shade

H&M, Washed linen duvet cover set, £39.99

As the weather gets warmer it’s important we keep our body temperature cool at night to ensure the best night’s sleep. One of linen’s great properties is that it regulates your body temperature, so it’s the ideal choice for the warmer season. Go for a pastel colour to inject a gentle dose of colour to your bedroom.

Smells like Spring! Add some scented candles with Spring scents.

Diptyque, Gardenia scented candle, £49

Freshly mown lawns, Clean laundry, fresh citrus zing and floral notes are all scents that evoke a sense of Spring. Scent is a powerful tool for visualisation. We associate freshness, happiness and blooms with this time of year. Pick a scent that appeals to you and light in the afternoons to fill your home with a seasonal scent.
