Since recovering from surgery, I rediscovered my love of Pilates. Pilates is a series of controlled movements that focus on improving flexibility, strength and teach awareness of the body.
I commit to at least 3 sessions of pilates a week, the duration of the workouts really depends on what my body needs that day. Sometimes I do 20 minutes, sometimes 45. The most important thing to me is carving out time in the day to take this time for myself.
Pre surgery I was regularly doing high intensity workouts, post surgery I’m really embracing this slower way of moving and getting used to my new body. I’m so grateful for this practice and would highly recommend giving it a try. It’s suitable for all skill levels and is accessible online from a variety of instructors, meaning that you can do this workout from home.
